Terms of use

The rules of the game. We've kept them as short and plain as the lawyers allow.

The short version

  • BUZZD is for adults 18 and over. One account per person.
  • BZ, packs and cards live inside BUZZD. They have no cash value and can't be bought, sold or traded.
  • Collector Pass renews through Apple until you cancel it with Apple. Your cards stay yours if you do.
  • Photos you add stay yours. You let us use them to build the catalogue.
  • Play fair. No bots, no farming, no gaming the economy.
  • Your rights under consumer law always apply, whatever these terms say.

The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY], [REGISTERED ADDRESS] ("BUZZD", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using BUZZD, you agree to them and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use BUZZD.

You and your account

  • You must be 18 or over to use BUZZD.
  • One person, one account. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you're responsible for what happens on your account.
  • Give us accurate details, and tell us at [CONTACT EMAIL] if you think someone else has got into your account.

Scans and the catalogue

Every log starts with a live barcode scan. A scan tells us a barcode was in front of your camera; it doesn't prove you own or drank anything, and we don't treat it that way.

We build the catalogue from free sources and our own curation, so it won't have every can and some details may be wrong. If you scan a can we don't know, it shows as pending while we check it. We decide what goes into the catalogue and may edit, merge or remove entries.

BZ, packs and cards

  • BZ is earned only. You can't buy BZ, and it has no cash value.
  • Packs and cards are digital items inside BUZZD. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them in the app. They aren't property, currency or securities, and you can't sell, trade or transfer them, in or outside BUZZD.
  • One pool, published odds. Every pack, earned or paid, draws from the same pool with the odds we publish in the app.
  • Allowances and balance. There's a daily BZ allowance. We may change how much BZ things earn, what packs cost in BZ and which cards are in a series, but we won't take away cards already in your Binder because of a change.
  • Mistakes and abuse. If BZ, packs or cards land in your account through a bug or through breaking these terms, we may correct or remove them.

Collector Pass

Collector Pass is an optional subscription that adds a higher daily BZ allowance, monthly packs, one exclusive BUZZD Original card each paid month and premium themes. The free version stays complete without it.

  • Price and renewal: [PRICE] per [PERIOD], charged to your Apple account. It renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Free trial: [TRIAL LENGTH, or remove]. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, the paid subscription starts.
  • Cancelling: manage or cancel in your iPhone's Settings under your Apple account, then Subscriptions. Deleting your BUZZD account doesn't cancel it.
  • After cancelling: Pass benefits stop at the end of the period you've paid for. Cards and packs already credited to you stay yours.
  • Refunds: Apple handles refunds under its own policies. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Photos and notes you add

You own the photos, notes and other content you add. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, display, adapt and use it to run BUZZD. For photos of cans we didn't know, that includes using them in the catalogue that other collectors see. That licence continues for photos already approved into the catalogue after you delete your account; they're shown without your name.

Only add content you have the right to share. Don't add photos of other people, anything private, or anything offensive, unlawful or that infringes someone else's rights. We review photos and may remove content that breaks these rules. To report something, use [REPORT METHOD].

Play fair

Don't:

  • use bots, scripts or anything automated to scan, log or earn BZ;
  • scan barcodes from screens, printouts or photos to farm BZ, or run several accounts to do it;
  • exploit bugs instead of reporting them to us;
  • copy, reverse engineer or interfere with BUZZD, or try to get into accounts or systems that aren't yours;
  • harass anyone or use BUZZD for anything unlawful.

If you do, we may remove BZ, packs or cards, suspend your account or close it.

What's ours, what's theirs

BUZZD, the card designs and frames, the mascot, BUZZD Originals, our can art and our names for things belong to us. You can share pulls and finds through the share features in the app.

Drink names and trademarks belong to their owners. We use them only to identify the cans you log. BUZZD isn't affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any drink brand.

Not health advice

BUZZD is a collection app. Nothing in it is medical, nutritional or health advice, and it isn't designed to track what or how much you drink. Follow the label and the law where you live.

Changes and ending

BUZZD will change as we build it. We may add, change or remove features. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect.

You can stop using BUZZD and delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law or safety stops us. If we ever shut BUZZD down, we'll give you at least [NOTICE PERIOD] notice.

Liability and the law

We work hard to keep BUZZD running, but we provide it as it is and can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded, including the Australian Consumer Law, the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and similar laws where you live. Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we're not liable for losses that weren't reasonably foreseeable.

These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW]. If you live elsewhere, you keep the protections of your local law and can bring a claim in your local courts.

Apple

These terms are between you and BUZZD, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for BUZZD or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and isn't responsible for any claims about it, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims. If BUZZD fails to meet any applicable warranty, you can notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them against you.
